Gerri Thompson

Gerri Thompson Gerri is a seasoned veteran of the Canadian healthcare system. Her formal training and experience in clinical care as a nurse followed by post-graduate training in health systems management set the stage for an exceptional path of accomplishment as a healthcare executive. Gerri has held a variety of leadership positions within the public healthcare sector including Director, Community Living and Supportive Services, and subsequently Assistant Executive Director, Clinical Services, Health and Community Services, St. John’s NF Healthcare Region. Gerri has been hired as a consultant to numerous organizations, including, the Department of Health and Community Services, Government of NF and Labrador, and Memorial University, Faculty of Medicine. Gerri’s expert consultation services included risk assessment, development and implementation of effective decision-making systems, development and implementation of multi-year system change affecting major aspects of the public healthcare system , from health human resource development, professional training and governance, to healthcare funding, health policy and legislative reform. Gerri’s leadership is well recognized by colleagues throughout Canada. Her particular areas of expertise include program planning and implementation, organizational restructuring and outcomes evaluation.
